[Question-Insurance] How does the Health Reimbursement Account work?

I'm a letter carrier for the USPS and my health insurance is through my union. I was looking at my account on Cigna's website and I saw some of my hospital visits were paid by Health Reimbursement Account. I had no idea I even had this account. It says my employer funds this account. You're telling me I have almost $7,000 that can be used to pay for costs my insurance doesn't cover, and it's all being paid by my employer? It sounds too good to be true. Sorry if I'm coming off as a dunce but I'm just in shock about this mysterious account I didn't know existed.
