[discussion] mid career masters

I'm an administrator for a practice of 30ish providers within a large healthcare institution. Been at the job for 4.5 years and worked as a operations/management consultant in hospital revenue cycle for almost a decade prior to that.

Thinking about getting an MHA or MBA as a means to further my career. Curious if anyone has done something similar. Trying to see where the balance is between cost and quality/brand recognition of which master's program to look into. Specifically, options include $20k for non-acreddited, local University but has a relatively large regional network of MHA grads vs around $55k for a larger brand name school and likely higher quality of education.

Many of my peers got their master's as a means to get into hcare or did so right after undergrad. Curious to hear the stories of those who were already established managers in the industry and whether or not it was worth it.
