Why am I paying?
Hello!
Let me preface this by saying I know absolutely nothing about health insurance. I work for a company that has quality health insurance with a $3000 deductible, recently I was referred by my health insurance company to a psychologist which I saw today. Come to find out I got charged for the initial consultation With the psychiatrist for a grand total of $260. After this I spoke with her and said I was covered by my health insurance, so I’m not exactly sure why I have to pay this on my credit card despite it being “covered” by my health insurance. Do I have to file a claim or something or will I be reimbursed later on? Please explain it to me so I can try to understand it and not have to pay for future appointments, charging me four dollars each minute for the session.
Where do I submit complaints & have them resolved, when Patient Relations don't help?
Whenever I go to a hospital or clinic, I get the worst treatment due to various aspects of me. It makes every hospital visit painful and not worth it. I'm shocked how cruel and judgmental healthcare workers tend to be, to me anyhow, when they're supposed to go into their field because they truly care about people.
Specifically, I'm asking about UCSF's ER in SF. I've gotten horrific treatment there in every way, and no one goes to an ER for nothing. It's like being slapped twice - first for the health issue, and 2nd for judgmental, hurtful, extremely slow treatment. I'm always treated rudely, and made to wait much longer than other people, every step of the way. The waiting every step of the way is unbearable, especially if you're cold, hurt, and afraid. Even with milder or more severe problems, I see that more attractive people, of other ethnicities, are seen much quicker every step of the way. It's been consistent through multiple visits now. I see other people in and out in an hour, while I have to suffer through 7-10 hours of being there, every time. I've noticed that other people of my ethnicity are stuck waiting there forever, the last in triage, with the most wait times in between nurse/doctor visits in the ER rooms, too. And whenever people like me ask politely about the wait time, or when the next step is coming, staff snap back rudely.
They're condescending in many ways, and don't listen, and just treat people like me like we're less valued and less than human.
I've submitted complaints to Patient Relations multiple times, after most visits, and it's always the same rude response, like denying what happened. And when I go back again, nothing is fixed - I get treatment just as bad as before, with different employees. It's horrifying going there.
Where else can I complain, and make them actually change their ways, and make future visits as comfortable as possible, and make them give me the same level of respectful, warm, timely care they give other patients?
Healthcare.gov issue (VA)
Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but I've been trying to get insurance and decided to apply on Heathcare.gov and my application has been completed and it shows "state agency to contact you" for over a week now. How long should it take for them to contact me?

Insurance company executives are demons
They contribute nothing, take everything, and only exist to make our lives and society worse.
The people who run and profit from these companies are the mafia middle-men between you and your doctor. Without their immense power and demonic influence, they would not be able to inflict their evil upon us.
From the flames of Hell itself, these literal demons have flown up only to wreck hardship, destruction, and death upon the US. Not in the form of bombs, but of overcharging and under-delivering on health coverage.
If they didn’t exist and weren’t in power, everyone would be far better off.
Medical Error Is Not the Third Leading Cause of Death
[CA] Am I allowed to have medical coverage through Covered California and dental/vision through my job?
Hello! I'm 30M and I'm changing jobs. My employer's cheapest plans want to charge me almost $600/mo for health insurance and I'm looking at quotes on Covered California for similar coverage for half the price.
The dental and vision through my job are decent, however. Am I allowed to sign up through Covered California for health coverage and also sign up through my job for dental and vision? Does Covered California offer dental and vision as well?
