As all of us getting older in the tooth and my dad passing recently whats a good health care provider in uk?
Main thing is glasses and dental work but I also want Alzheimers cover obviously since dad am higher risk.
Whats peoples opionions and who did they go with
Bupa and Westfield look good so far. But Bupa seems to have a sep dental plan.
Is self referral allowed in America?
I'm in the US and I have good insurance. I have been exceedingly negligent about going to the doctor for a long time. Something came up, and I cannot get a primary care appointment anywhere in my town. No-one is accepting new patients; if I try to explain the problem, they just cut me off and say "If it's a medical emergency, go to the ER." I find this very frustrating - they're very dismissive of me, like I'm wasting their time.
It's very embarrassing and extremely shameful - oh well, the anonymity of the internet I suppose. My right testis is very swollen and sore and rock hard. This is not an STD, as I am single and have been for a long time. In these circumstances, is it OK to just phone a urologist and ask if they'll see me? (Apologies, I'm an immigrant - in my home country you cannot go to a specialist without a referral from a primary care doctor).
If not, I guess, just wait and see and hope the swelling goes down. Perhaps it will. "Knock on wood :)" It's not an ER level emergency, I'm not bleeding or anything, so I can't go there. It'll probably be OK, silly to worry about something which might be fine by next week, but I thought I'd ask.
Getting university healthcare insurance while also on Medicaid?

I am going to university this fall out of state and my uni is requiring me to get their health insurance plan. I'm not able to get it waived since I'm on Medicaid, so I have two questions:
- Am I still able to keep Medicaid and my university health insurance? Should I be using my university health insurance out of state and Medicaid when I'm back home? How should I utilize them both?
- What is the best way to go about selecting a healthcare plan? What should I be looking for in a plan?
