I had an FNA biopsy done on a mass almost 3 weeks ago. I was told I would have results in 5-7 days. The 5-7 days came and went and I was patient because I figured they are probably just busy.
Yesterday I finally called the office of the Dr who did the FNA to see if they could find out why it was taking so long. The receptionist told me that she didnt know much, but she did know that there was some kind of mix up with paperwork that was sent to the lab with my samples and that they were trying to get it figured out. She said she would have someone call me back that knew more about what was going on. Nobody ever called me.
This morning I call again and get the same answer: somebody that knows more will call me and let me know what is going on. They are now closed for the day and again, no call.
What should I do next? Just continue being patient? It is awful waiting all this time wondering if I have cancer or not. I just want to know what the heck is going on and why it is taking so long to get results. I cant help but wonder if the paperwork mix up was bad enough that I will never get results and will have to do another FNA.
