CPR

I work at a hospital doing mental health I am an assistant. I work in the ed with psych patients. I'm about 3 months in. I heard the other day some nurses wanted me to go to another unit that was code blue and another nurse I guess was like no she is new or something which I'm thankful for because I would of had a panic attack if I would of been sent. The code needed up being called off maybe 10 seconds after. I'm nervous about doing cpr. There are nurses who could of gone instead of me. Shouldn't the send them the best option and I should be last to be considered?
