Why would contact with someone vaccinated for smallpox preclude me from plasma donation?

I give plasma regularly. You have take a short survey each time to be eligible.

One of the questions is "have you had contact with someone who has had the smallpox vacine since your last visit?" Well, of course I have. Virtually everyone on the planet over the age of 50 has been vaccinated. It certainly can't mean "recently" vaccinated as noone has been vaccinated for it since the 70s when it was eradicated. Maybe a few people in some secret disease lab have. It just makes no sense at all.

Noone on staff, not even the GM knows. They just tell me to select no. I am so curious.
