So, I have health anxiety, and I end up sending a mychart message with a question to my doctor about 2-3 times a month. Usually about 3 sentences just explaining the issue/question, possibilities I’ve thought of, and asking their thoughts/whether this is something to worry about. This is mainly because I am in the process of testing out different medications/doses, and working through side effects. However, I always get embarrassed after because I feel like I may be annoying them with how often I message. The thing is, scheduling an appointment for weeks out and being anxious for those weeks to then leave work early just to ask one question seems really unnecessary. I’m honestly completely fine with being charged for mychart messages, they deserve to be paid for their time. I just hope that they aren’t annoyed with me or think I’m stupid. I always try to be as understanding and appreciative as possible and have rarely had any problems with medical staff, so I think I am just overthinking, but I have seen doctors on reddit talk about how they hate mychart messages and they’re annoying, which makes me really embarrassed. Any insight into this? Am I using it the right way or should I try to cut back?
