I just turned 24. Over the last few years, I have completed various academic programs in things I found interesting but my mind always goes back to healthcare careers. I initially wanted to go to med school to work in Pediatrics when I started college. My advisor stated very nonchalantly that I wouldn’t have a change due to having Cerebral Palsy and I let their opinion discourage me from pursuing it. Years later I’m back thinking about what if I had done it? And I’m wondering what sort of options someone with my disability can have in the healthcare field?
I’ve thought about pivoting into PA school or giving med school another shot but I’d love to hear options. Idk anyone with physical disabilities so I wasn’t sure who to ask.
