Situation: adult age 22 was formerly on parent's insurance. Parents are about to leave the country for an extended period of time and there won't be a health plan to add the 22yo to.
Can the 22yo apply for (now newly expanded as of December 1st) the affordable care act in North Carolina? Unemployed and the parents have offered to pay for the deductible.
Is the 22yo eligible for subsidies? Or does part of his parent's income contribute to that determination?
When parents drop coverage will this be a qualifying event allow for enrollment?
