My town is booming, but the nearest ER is half an hour away. I think that if someone were considering building an ER in my town, there would be a good argument for them doing so. I live in Texas, where freestanding ERs are legal and common, so it isn’t as if they’d have to build an entire hospital just to make an ER. The town really is getting much bigger quickly, lots of new businesses are being built, and an ER here would serve several other towns that also have no ER. But I don’t know who would be weighing that decision to beg with.
If I were to create a petition, or just write a letter, asking for an ER to be built, who would I address it to? A regional healthcare company that runs some hospitals in the area? The municipal government? Someone else?
