I am located in the US.
I have been receiving pelvic floor physical therapy since the end of February. Unfortunately, this is not covered by my insurance since the specific PT place I am going to is out of network (after visiting someone in network 3 times, and determining that they don’t staff anyone with the experience needed).
There are some payment adjustments made, so I’m not being charged the full amount, but it’s still a lot of money ($150-$200/week). This is on top of additional medical expenses.
I applied for financial assistance through the hospital, to help with my other costs, and I was denied as my income is well over the limit.
I am a single person, living alone, with a single income, so even with a higher income my cost of living is higher than most people who live with roommates or partners where there are multiple sources of income in one household.
I’m really worried about not being able to pay this or having to put it on a credit card entirely, and I’m not sure what resources are available to me. The specific place I am going to does not have any assistance programs and does not offer any payment plans.
I’m not yet in a good or a much improved place, and I might make my next appointment my last as I’m not seeing much progress in my condition, but I’m not sure what to do about the payments I now owe.
