Hey everyone, I have a pre-auth for surgery that's scheduled for April 12. My current insurance provider is FL BCBS and they deemed it medically necessary. My surgeon and clinic are in-network so all is good there.
The issue is that today my employer announced that they will be moving to UHC and it will take effect on May 1st. They said we will still be covered through April.
Is there a chance BCBS refuses to cover the surgery because of the cancelation 20 days later or do they have to cover what was pre-authorized since the service day is within their coverage period?
My surgeon is in-network for UHC so I'm not too worried about the post-op appointments. Just for the surgery itself. It took months to get a pre-auth for this procedure and I'm freaking out.
