Hello! I’m excited to finish my undergraduate degree, but I’m just beginning to picture my life in the workforce and it’s daunting.
I have mentored professionals in the roles of community (government/non-profit) educator and (long-term care) administrator. Additionally, my mother works as an RN in a hospice setting.
I’m looking for some insight into a few professional spaces within healthcare:
-LMHC or psychologist (if your clients refer to you as a “therapist” I would love to hear from you!)
-Nurse Practitioner
-(LTC) Administrator or dir. of nursing
-Director of hospice; adult day; etc
-Any related roles! If you do case management, community Ed, or a social work-related profession, please share! (I know there’s a separate sub for this but if you stumbled along my post, I’d appreciate any input!!)
Anyway, any general insight would be much appreciated!!
If a prompt would be helpful: Do you like your role? What is most challenging/rewarding? Do you plan on staying in said role? How is work/life balance? What advice would give young professionals with an interest in doing similar work?
