My story of the experiences of healthcare

My issues with the American Healthcare system began in August of 2023 when I took charge of my health and decided to invest in a revolutionary therapy called VNS. for those that don't know, VNS is a technology that helps control uncontrollable seizures. After months of planning, and tests, and many years of documentation, a date of surgery was set for the middle of August. but before the surgery could commence, it was denied by the insurance company on grounds that I did not have enough evidence. In response, an appeal was filed, and after waiting more than 3 days past the deadline to make a decision(a move that one could argue is borderline illegal), my health insurance company relented and agreed to pay for the surgery. This event caused huge strain on my mental health, and even put my life in danger. Since then, I have had to continue fighting the insurance company over many other health issues. Currently I am fighting them over an important visit to the hospital where I severely injured my back from a weightlifting accident in the Gym. I tell this story as a way to educate others of the issues with health care, and how privatized health care needs to end. Human health should always be a priority over profit, not the other way around.
