Had a fever since 2 days and decided to go to the ER last night when it peaked at 103.6F
They told me it was strep and gave me 2 IV bags of fluids and 1 small IV bag of antibiotics.
This was my first ever visit to the ER and I didn’t think to check if it was in network or out of network. I only checked google and went to the one with the highest rating.
I only found out it was out of network on my way out. Feeling so stupid for making this mistake. But in my defense I couldn’t think straight at the time.
I have a PPO plan with an in-network deductible of 500 but my out of network deductible is 10,000. My out of pocket limit is 1,500.
When this ER bills me, Do I need to pay up to 10,000 before insurance kicks in? Or am I looking at 1,500 or some other amount?
