I live in NJ, a few years ago I had NJ FamilyCare, while I was in college and before I had a full time job. I received a notice (The absolute latest I received it was March 2022 - I think it was way before that though) saying that if I didn't renew my FamilyCare, my plan would be cancelled. I was okay with that as I had just graduated and was about to get a full time job. I landed a job in late May, and never enrolled in my employer's healthcare plan. Today, I received a tax form stating that I was covered all 12 months this year, which is 100% news to me. I'm 100% certain that I never renewed this, and I shouldn't have had coverage this year.
The only thing I can think of is COVID - I know that FamilyCare coverage was extended because of COVID (without the need to renew coverage) but I thought that ended a while ago.
I'm not sure how this will impact my taxes. I'm 100% certain that I would no longer qualify based on my current salary, so I don't really know what the implications of this are. Thoughts?
