Can I still get healthcare?

I’ve never had healthcare in my life so i have absolutely no idea how to go about it. I’m getting older and feel like I need a doctor check up. I’m just so confused by the application process, it seems like it’s just sending me in circles. Everything I google gets me nowhere. What is open enrollment and am I screwed till next year cuz I missed it? Can’t I just sign up for healthcare? Can someone please explain the process like i’m 5? Anything helps, thanks in advance. Also i’m in the USA if that helps
