[Question - Insurance] Health plan wise, is there a best time to quit my job to retain coverage for the longest time possible?

I’m hoping to quit my job later this month due to a bunch of complicated stuff with returning to the office.

Is there a best time to quit and retain coverage for myself and my wife? Would it be payday for the most recent period? First of the month? I’m not sure how the timeline works with insurance.

I would do COBRA to keep things easy, but that would be ~$1,300/month and I ain’t got that.

My employer is in NY, I live in AZ.
