[Question - insurance] what's even the point of healthcare?

I need to see a doctor because I've been having issues for the past couple years, doctors visits are astronomically expensive. So it's been causing alot of stress for me, what if I get sent to a specialist? What if I need bloodwork? How expensive will prescriptions be? I was lookin at health insurance, but seriously!? 230 a month for insurance with an 8k deductable? That's more than I make some months! From reading healthcare.gov trying to figure out what a deductible is, what I understand is that I have to pay up to the deductable just for insurance to kick in? So I have to pay full price anyway. So getting insurance will do literally nothing for me. So I might as well pay cash uninsured. am I missing something? Is there no way to save money on this visit?
