So long story short, I used to work in the regular world, and would just greet people with "Hello [name]! How are you doing today?" Very excited and brightly.
Well now I work in healthcare, and many patients I see are doing good just to make it in that day. I've found my standard greeting to be just a little less useable. I've tried "hi [name], it's good to see you!", But that just sounds too, idk, robotic. I just know I want to keep my excited/bright sounding tone.
So all that being said, how would you want to be greeted on a shitty day in a shitty month in a shitty year? If you were in my position, how would you greet a patient that is in so much pain they can't move?
