I know the risks of being bitten by a deer tick, however I noticed something and I cannot seem to find any information on it. Whenever I walk my dogs I would find a tick on me hours later (4 to 7 hours) but it just crawls around. I have never been bitten and it is pretty easy to find one since my body isn't heavily hairy. One time I found a tick on the back of my neck crawling around (could feel it) but it never attached, another on my leg, and today on my stomach. All have yet to bite me and have been on me for hours.
So here is my question, how long do ticks normally take before they bite a human? I have found a couple of ticks on my dogs through out the years and found around 5 on me crawling around.
