[Discussion] Why is it illegal for suicidal people to donate plasma?

Today at the plasma center I was banned from donating because the physician lady just had to ask me about my suicide history and I just had to answer honestly. There is an FDA regulation that bans me from donating plasma because I attempted it a few years ago. How the fuck was I supposed to know about this or predict this? My blood passed all the tests & I was ready to donate but in the last screening she asked me about my mental health. Now I actually do feel like shooting myself. I was gonna get 100 today for my donation but me telling the truth shot it down. Why should people with suicide thoughts be banned from making money or donating plasma?
