[Question - Other] 20 Year Old Canadian Kinesiology Student Feeling Lost

I just finished my first semester of university at the University of Calgary for kinesiology. Im honestly starting to get a little worried about future job prospects.

My plan A is to finish my degree in kinesiology and then go into PT, which is evidently, very competitive. I have a good work ethic, im a smart kid and I try hard. I finished my first semester with around a 3.9 GPA so far. However, im starting to realize just how competitive and hard it will be for me to get into PT in the future. I work 25 hours a week in order to pay for my rent, my car, food, school etc. and im really just starting to fear that my best might not be good enough to get me into that competitive of a graduate program.

I know I for sure want to work in Healthcare sector, and like everyone else, I want to make good money while being able to help people. I aspire to have a family in the future and work in a career that has good hours that would not take me away from my family in the middle of the night or work crazy extensive work hours. Asides from that, if I can work a fulfilling career where I can help people, and where the work is remotely enjoyable, id be a happy man.

Do you guys believe that Kinesiology might be a dead end degree if I cant get into a grad school? Are there other opportunities I should be assessing or looking at more closely? What type of job prospects are out there that I might not have even thought about? I'd love to hear more about what you guys think.

Thank you.
