I have been trying for almost a year to get a copy of my medical records.
Summer of 2003 I had a series of surgeries and then an extended hospital stay with a medically induced coma. Some of the things that happened that summer are still affecting my health today but I don’t remember a lot of it because I was a teenager and first in a coma, then on a lot of drugs.
I have sent multiple requests to the hospital in question (UMass Memorial) to no avail. I have faxed, mailed, and e-mailed them. Either they say they don’t get them or if they do, they can’t read them.
I am currently in Philadelphia and can’t bring the paperwork to the office in person. I am NC with my parents so I cannot ask them for the details of what happened.
Why is this so hard? Is there a better way to do this?
