[Question - Insurance] $198/month insurance for copper IUD placement?

Hello redditors!

So I am 25 years old. Sexually active with one partner. Sometimes use condoms. Sometimes don’t. Have never had a women’s health exam.

I have no health insurance, but will be getting married in January 2020 and will join his plan at that time.

In the meantime, I am shopping for health insurance to be able to get a copper IUD in the near future, and the checkup/pelvic exam I’m sure I’ll have to have prior to that.

I have no health problems. Only take vitamin d supplants since I was low at my last check up.

I spoke to a health insurance rep who told me the best plan with no deductible for me is $198/month, with 50-80% of the cost of my IUD being covered. It’s a Cigna PPO plan.

To be honest, I’d probably cancel it after I get it and see that I’m doing ok. The rep said that most deductibles are $5000.

Wanted to get input on if that sounds about right?
