Since switching to natural deodorant, my pits smell even after showering...

I’ve been using aluminum-free deodorants for almost three months now, and the worst of the transition period seems to be over. I am sweating less, and the sweat is less smelly. However, I have noticed in the past few weeks that I can’t seem to wash away the stink from my armpits. Even immediately after washing them, my armpits smell like sweat. Has anyone else experienced this? How can I get clean again?
