Prison Food Is Making US Inmates Disproportionately Sick
Lapses in food safety have made American prisoners six times more likely to get a foodborne illness than the general population.

My cousin is 16 and will be attending highschool in the US starting this January on a visitor's visa. My mother-in-law will be his legal guardian. We live in Upstate NY.
He needs health insurance. Are there any solutions for us in this scenario? I was thinking NY Health, or CDPHP.
Thank you for any help.
Long story short I'm looking for some guidance for my girlfriends health issues. She's self employed ans has her own business and no insurance. This past year she was diagnosed with gall stones and needs her gallbladder removed. The surgery is around 30k which we obviously can't pay. We looked into insurance and because she's been diagnosed it's now a preexisting condition which no one wants to touch.
Do we have any options other than traveling to Mexico (which we are seriously considering)?
So on the 29th of Dec. I paid for my first Obamacare premium with my mom's card, but I'm still getting alerts urging me to pay. I looked at my payment history and the payment showed up, but at the far right of that row it said payment status was 'Staged.' Does that mean that it's just waiting for Blue Cross to process (They are closed today)?
My girlfriend started a new job mid-July. She works full time and the employer is now telling her she’ll have to wait a year before they’ll offer her insurance.
From what I researched my understanding is that the maximum waiting period is 90 days. We pointed this out to HR and they just blew her off and told her to wait a year. I’m not sure if I’m missing something like a weird exemption or something, but we’d like to get her covered soon.
Does anyone know if the employer is breaking the law by requiring her to wait longer than 90 days?
About six months ago I switched to natural deodorant. I was using one called Green Beaver, and now am using Tom's. I have noticed since I switched that I have red armpits, but they're not itchy. I think it may have something to do with the friction from sweating. Does anyone have any suggestions for natural antiperspirants or products that can help with this? I don't want to go back to regular deodorant but I am really not happy with the current state of my armpits.
Have any recommendations for facial cleansing wipes with non-troubling ingredients?
If this is posted in the wrong subreddit, I apologize and hope someone can direct me to a more appropriate subreddit.
My spouse has had a number unresolved health issues as our previous Family Doctor was less than helpful regarding finding out what is causing everything. We will be meeting with a new GP next month but we're not sure what to expect or how to prepare for this appointment.
Beyond the issue we need to discuss with this new doctor, my spouse has multiple anxiety-related issues and is (probably) on the autism spectrum, so knowing how to prepare for this would be really helpful.
