Most effective way in the US to get antibiotics?

Moved to a new city with spouse and child. Child has a pediatrician but parents don't have a PCP. Spouse complained of sore throat and we got an email from child's school that strep is rampent. We are all on hdhp. Spouse went to urgent care in the area, $165 to be seen and tested which came out positive. Who knows what other charges there will be. Got the antibiotics relatively cheap. Child is sniffly but seems fine as am I, but should probably get tested. Seems nuts that we would both need to go the urgent care route and shell out a minimum $330 out of pocket for tests and a script, $495 for the three of us. Just wondering what common sense alternatives there are? Urgent care is WellNow which, to be frank, doesn't have a good reputation.

Would you pay mid 4 figures for an annual health membership focused on longevity (i.e. increasing life & health span)?

This private clinic specializes in ongoing evaluations and consultations based on medical tests. It tailors personalized plans to mitigate health risks, enhance health and life quality, ultimately extending longevity.

This service is especially beneficial for health-conscious individuals, athletes, and those with a history of health risks.

Do you see value in investing in such a service? What are your reasons for or against it?

NPR News: Are We Alone In The Universe?

Are We Alone In The Universe?
Are we alone in the universe? It's a question that's been posed again and again. Carl Sagan posed it in the 1970s as a NASA mission scientist as the agency prepared to send its twin Viking landers to Mars. And nearly 50 years after the first of two landers touched down on Mars, we're no closer to an answer as to whether there's life — out there. Scientists haven't stopped looking. In fact, they've expanded their gaze to places like Saturn's largest moon, Titan and Jupiter's moon Europa. The search for life beyond planet earth continues to captivate. And NASA has upcoming missions to both moons. Could we be closer to answering that question Carl Sagan asked some 50 years ago? Credentialing Question

Hello! Not sure if I found the right spot but im hoping someone here may have some insight. Based out of Florida....

My question is in regards to the credentialing of facilities. If a health plan credentials our clinic as a facility, does the health plan also individually credential all of our providers as well? Or are we responsible for the full credentialing of our providers? If so...wouldn't this be a delegated credentialing arrangement?

I'm just having trouble figuring out the differences as usually our providers are directly credentialed by a health plan so this is new for us and I want to be sure we understand the process before moving forward.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some insight!
