I am in school doing prerequisites to apply to a nuclear medicine program. I will be taking 5 classes starting in January, ends in late December. At first I wanted to try Monitor technician, but the course is too expensive so I can’t afford it right now. I would love to apply to imaging facilities, but I really need something that is at night and able to work 3 days out of the week so I can focus on classes. I saw that I don’t need a certification to become a pct where I live and thought I could try it out to get my foot in the door, but is it beneficial to me since it’s a different ball field from what I want to do as a career? If anything I thought about finding a PRN job, but I think that is for someone with experience. Do I have the choice of picking what floor I want to work on? What would you say is the best unit/floor to work on? What is your day to day like? 100% honesty.
