I just got hired for a per diem job at a hospital. The entire process took about over a month to get onboarded and my start date was today with orientation. Problem is I emailed my supervisor and they’re asking me to do two full weeks of training. Im assuming its monday-friday, 8–4. I already work a full-time job which im about to cut to part time within the next like 10 days so I can work more per diem shifts. But I didn’t expect a per diem position to require that kind of schedule for training.
Has anyone else been expected to do this for a per diem role? Is this normal to be expected to do two full weeks of training away from your main job and do we know if there is any type of flexibility? Should I bring up my full-time job about scheduling ? I already emailed my per diem role supervisor letting her know im scheduled at my current job and if we can work something out for the next two weeks.
