I understand healthcare is a female dominated area, but as a male in healthcare it seems problematic that there are hardly any men during most of the hiring process in healthcare. How are we supposed to feel there isn't gatekeeping going on?

There have been times where I've had HR recruitment interviews, 1st round panel interviews, and 2nd round interviews and everyone in that process was a woman. How would a woman feel if every part of the hiring process she went through there were only men every step of the way. I wish they would prioritize male representation at most hospitals and don't get me started on race. It's to the point where I can already tell the race of a person in certain positions just by looking at some of the staff. Staff is usually a mix with majority minorities, management or supervisor is usually a black woman, associate director or director is usually a white woman, and the person she answers to is usually a white man. I've worked in healthcare for 20 years at different systems around the country and this is usually how it is. This isn't right because there is a clear bias that exists in healthcare administration and it's clear that certain positions are more accessible to others based on factors applicants can't control like gender and race.
