Delaying ACA enrollment for extended trip abroad?

I have had health insurance via an ACA marketplace for the past few years. From January I will being traveling to another country for 6 months before returning. During my stay abroad, I will have health coverage from the health system in that country. I was hoping to delay enrolling for health care in the USA until after I return, but it's not clear to me whether that I will qualify for an SEP (special enrollment period) given that I'm not changing my residency. Does anyone know for sure?
