Advice for friends while of medical placement?

Hi guys so I 17m am doing 3 weeks as a carer in a residential care home in SW England, I'm staying in a private flat attached to the home usually used for the owner. I don't really know anyone in the new town to be honest as i haven't ever been here before. The majority of the carers in the home are early 20's with a couple my age, but honestly I think it would be awkward hanging out with them without other guys. Idk i haven't really met any other guys down here apart from dealers 🤷
