Level 2 part C and part D appeal data suggests that the rate of inappropriate denials reaching that stage (inappropriate in the sense that the original denials merit overturn according to QICs) is inequitably distributed among services and conditions.
For example, cancers and other expensive treatments are unsurprisingly inappropriately denied far more often than claims corresponding to cheaper, less dire situations.
