I have a friend who takes care of individuals with dementia/alzheimers(memory care she calls it). Based off of my understanding she directly cares for individuals within their own home. Several clients reside there and there are many rooms. I've worked in a similar setting before but I cared for individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and I can recall the numerous times state gave us visits, showed up unannounced, or that one time an angry staff who had been fired decided to make false reports to the state about the home she had previously worked in which caused state to be so far up our asses that we couldn't even breath without a surveyer being there to watch each and every move we made.(that didn't last more than 3 days before the packed their bags and went back home cuz they could see nothing bad was actually going on). Anyways.... with all of that said, I understand that state must inspect and make sure that professionals in the Healthcare field are doing their jobs to insure the safety of the vulnerable who are under their care. But my friend says that they haven't been seen there in years not even after reports have been made. Not sure what's going on but its fishy. What can I tell her or what advice can I give her to deal with this issue? Obviously management isn't doing their job and DHHS isn't either. I wonder if someone in management is friends or family with someone in the DHHS. If DHHS isn't doing their job, then who do you go to in this kind of scenario???
Also, I think it's important to note that my friend hasn't shared any sensitive information or made any hippa violations.
