Background: I spent 2 years fighting a $1200 bill for a blood test that's $100 at another lab. Since then you all taught me that a lot of places offer cash prices that are a lot lower than what you'd pay even with insurance.
So I put together a list of self-pay prices for blood tests, x-rays, etc near me (CA). I use it to tell my doc where to send orders when we don't expect to meet the deductible. Some friends and family also like it. It got me thinking -- would you all benefit from this too? I even made a website to show what it would look like: justxhealth.com
How do you shop for labs or imaging now? Would you like a tool like this? Is there a better way?
Disclaimer: I know this sub says no ads, but I don't make money from this and making websites also happens to be what I do professionally. Hoping it’ll make navigating the healthcare system slightly better. Thanks for any feedback!
