I recently graduated college this past June with a degree in Public Health. And I’ve been doing a little soul searching and decided that healthcare informatics is the career that I want to pursue. I have been considering getting a masters degree in Informatics and am going to try and go back to school in December.
However, what can I do in the short-term to best get some introduction into the field? I have thought about doing the Google Data Analysis certificate as well as getting certs in ICD and CPT codes.
I do know a little bit of coding (SAS) but may try and learn SQL and R.
Lastly I am currently not working in the healthcare industry so I don’t know if that will affect my job chances.
