My 89 y/o grandfather fell and broke his hip in Las Vegas. He has had surgery and has received a recommendation for rehabilitation. My whole family lives in socal (his best outcome is with family who can support him) they have quoted us $4500 for a medical transport to get him home. Medicare allegedly won’t pay for his transport because it is out of town and a lower degree of care. Is there any tips you have where we could get this covered ? Or a cheaper alternative- is a medical transport always this expensive ?
