I have to get an umbilical hernia fixed and I'm in the US. What's the best way to shop around and find the best deal on a surgery?
I actually had one last year too but it was covered by my insurance then. Due to my own fault, I will be stuck paying for this one out of pocket. Sometimes you gamble and you lose lol :)
My thought was just to call a few surgeons like the one that did my first hernia and ask? Or is there another way I should be shopping this.
It's not an urgent surgery either, I was told it's not a huge deal if it's not causing pain, and I did have my last hernia for a few years before getting surgery. Just figure if I can make a few phone calls and save 5 figures, it's worth it!
