I am not talking about certain schemes whereby a government or organisation fund your medical school (often +/- a bursary) in return for you working in a disadvantaged area for a while.
Are there any countries where (nationally) medical graduates have to work in that country for a few years in order to pay back the government for investing in their training, as it were. It comes up for discussion now and again in my country, and is wildly unpopular as a suggestion for obvious reasons. I was wondering if it's in place anywhere else.
