Finding my medical records

Hi there! l'm trying to figure out how to go about getting my childhood medical records. I contacted and requested the records from the hospital but they said "we don't have his records, he didn't work for us, just rented space.' I have no ideas how to go about finding where he was.... google his name and it gives me a place from Missouri and I'm in ohio...
