I am a US citizen studying in the UK, when do I need to enroll in US Health Insurance Marketplace?

I'm a US citizen, and just turned 26 meaning I won't have US health insurance when I return next October. I got an email about open enrollment, but wasn't sure if I should sign up now or wait until I return. Is it possible to enroll later, or nearer to when I return? Thanks in advance!
