My wife has applied to a child care job on a military base in NC. The odds are looking pretty good that she’ll be offered the job.
That being said, she’s hung up on whether or not she’ll accept it due to the employer’s ambiguity concerning hours and lack of benefits.
They said she’d be working at least 30 hours but, due to short staffing, she’d likely work closer to 40. When she asked about benefits they said part time employees do not receive health insurance then quickly skipped on to talk about a 401K.
I’m having trouble finding concrete information on whether or not they’re required to offer health insurance. From what I’ve read most signs point to yes, they are required to offer it to employees working over 30 hours. Can anybody help out with any information on that?
Thanks!
