Hello everyone.
I recently moved back to the United States after living abroad for several years. Therefore I am still very unfamiliar with the healthcare system here. I currently have health insurance through my employer and went for a preventative physical exam last week.
I thought that the clinic I went to was an in-network provider (I had previously gone for immunizations there that were covered by my insurance, so I had assumed that it was in-network) but it turned out to be an out-of-network clinic, and my routine exam and many blood tests that the doctor ordered (which I am currently disputing with the clinic as I did not ask for so many blood exams to be done) will not be covered by my insurance.
It turns out that routine physicals and blood examinations are not under the "preventative" umbrella for my insurance provider.
So the less than $60 visit I had planned for will now cost me over $1000.
Is there anything I can do on my end to help alleviate this situation?
