Need MAJOR knee surgery, Doctor and Hospital are in-network but they're telling me the anesthesiologist is not, is this normal?

PLEASE ADVISE, it feels like the doctors and medial staff are just treating me like an ATM, and they don't see me as a person at all.

I've had a terrible time with this knee injury, mostly to do with treatment from doctors and medical staff. The surgeon and staff seem to just want to show up and fix my knee then throw me to the wolves, but that's another story...

I'm scheduled for surgery in 3 days and I've already paid an insane amount out of pocket to the doctor, PT, and for the machines I need in my home for the recovery. I've already hit my deductible and will absolutely hit my out of pocket max.

I just got a phone call asking me to pre-pay my costs for the surgery and have been told that the anesthesiologist is not in network and will also be entirely out of pocket. No one will answer me as to why they are using someone out of network or how much it will cost. The doctor and hospital are both in-network.

Is this a normal occurrence and how much is the bill going to be for an 8 hour surgery?

47F, 5'10", 260lb, white, 4 torn ligaments in right knee.
