Hello. Since the omicron strain began to spread, people have been talking about the pandemic coming to an end. But there are more and more sick people among my colleagues and acquaintances, even though 90% of them are vaccinated. Frankly, I'm tired of constantly wearing a mask and checking if I have gloves in my pocket before leaving the house. I'm not an anti-vaxxer and don't believe in all this conspiracy nonsense. It's hard to believe such crap, given that my taste and smell still haven't recovered eight months after my infection.
When the vaccine came out, I was the first in my family who take the shot and convinced everyone close to me to follow my lead. And it was unpleasant listening to the comments of anti-vaxxers from work when, six months after the second dose, I got sick. Despite this, I did a booster dose, took all precautions, and became a regular customer of online shops that sell protective accessories. I almost bathe in sanitizer when coming home and plan to follow the recommendations until we're safe.
But I'm exhausted from going into isolation every time someone at work gets sick. I haven't had a proper vacation since this pandemic started. And those days off that I spent in isolation can't be considered a replacement for the beach and the sea. The only positive thing with all this covid is that I saved some money and closed my mortgage earlier than planned.
I understand that it is much harder for doctors, and they have to risk their lives every day helping others. I understand that people are still dying from covid, but I'm tired of the restrictions and panic attacks whenever someone coughs or sneezes near me. At first, I was making remarks to those who don't wear their masks properly, but now I understand them.
Do you think there is any hope to get rid of this trouble any time soon?
