religious exemption for covid vax but received this seasons flu shot

hi all - i work in healthcare. and i cannot wrap my head around this. a person who wants to work within our facility has a religious exemption approved by their institution to not be covid vaccinated, however, they have received this seasons flu shot. how does this even make sense? can someone please explain it to me because i am baffled honestly and i would like to understand
