So I live in a small city in Alberta that’s basically infamous for how bad our health care is, so I have a hard time telling if my experience with it is normal or not.
Basically though, I finally got a call from the psychiatrist office, and their next available slot is in 5 months. That’s a total of waiting 6 months since getting a referral. My issue is I’d much like to get it done sooner And this is the only psychiatrist I can see without being admitted again. Basically I don’t think my mental health can wait that long (I have long history). My question is, since this appointment in May is on zoom, can I make an appointment with a psychiatrist from another city? Or will they only take patients local?
