I’ll start! I quit about one year into the pandemic. Thankfully I was never exposed to a lot of the covid trauma my coworkers would later come across. For me it was the reusing masks, sharing “sanitized” n94s, the “sanitizer is only for emergencies” and talks of mass layoffs to save a half a million while the hospital had tens of millions in investments that they bragged could be made liquid within three days time.
I decided I wasn’t going to kill myself or my mental health for a for profit machine. I got into health care to help people but this felt so dirty and immoral I didn’t want to participate anymore.
